East Gaston basketball player commits to college

East Gaston senior Aaron Thrams has committed to play basketball at Piedmont College in Demorest, Ga., next season.

The 6-foot-6 forward averages 7.2 points and was among the area’s rebounding leaders last week at 5.6 per game.

Piedmont is an NCAA Division III school that competes in the Great South Athletic Conference. Thrams will join a team that should return all five starters from the current lineup.
