GAZETTE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OFFENSIVE

Aaron Miller, QB, Clover — Rushed for 144 yards, completed two passes for 27 yards and directed a 295-yard offense in a 22-7 win over South Point.

Other standouts:

Brandon Wilson, QB, Lincolnton — Passed for 181 yards and two TDs and rushed for another 99 yards and two TDs.

Devyn Travis, RB, West Lincoln — Rushed 27 times for 183 yards and two TDs.

Markeith Redd, RB, Cherryville — Rushed for 110 yards and a TD and caught four passes for 67 yards.

Gary Gore, RB, East Gaston — Caught three passes for 94 yards and a TD.

Calvin Johnson, QB, Forestview — Passed for 129 yards with and a TD one interception and rushed for another 22 yards.

Alex Burns, RB, Cherryville — Gained 127 yards on just nine carries and scored twice.

Octavious Wallace, RB, Forestview — Caught four passes for 94 yards and a TD and ran for 33 yards and another TD.

Tyerecas Jeter, RB, Forestview — Rushed for 115 yards on 17 carries.

Kerrion Moore, RB, Hunter Huss — Topped 100 yards in first varsity game, carrying 13 times for 106 yards.

Chris McDowell, RB, East Gaston — Rushed for 116 yards on 19 carries.

Xzavier Spriggs, RB, North Gaston — Rushed 16 times for 114 yards.

Brad Wilson, WR, Lincolnton — Caught two passes for 93 yards and a TD.

Taylor Ramsey, WR/KR, North Lincoln — Had one catch for 40 yards and 129 return yards.

DEFENSIVE

Wesley Perkins, DB, Lincolnton — Returned two interceptions for TDs, made three tackles (one for loss) and broke up one pass in a 52-20 win over East Rutherford.

Other standouts:

Trey Childress, DB/K/KR, Clover — Returned a kickoff 97 yards for a TD, recorded seven tackles, kicked an extra point and ran in a two-point conversion.

Rod Williams, LB, South Point — Had 14 tackles (three solo) and one tackle for loss.

Jordan Forney, LB, South Point — Had 12 tackles (four solo) and a fumble recovery.

Travis Blake, DB, Bessemer City — Had 10 tackles.

D.J. Huskey, DB, Bessemer City — Had nine tackles.

Zack Cole, LB, Bessemer City — Had seven tackles and a 25-yard interception return for touchdown.

Jhalen Adams, LB, Bessemer City — Had four tackles, and a 65-yard interception return for touchdown.

Glen Self, DB, West Lincoln — Tallied 18 tackles (two for loss), one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
