Cramerton Christian athlete signs with CVCC

Cramerton Christian senior Kara Wright, front center, signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball at Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory next fall.

Wright has played volleyball at Cramerton Christian since her seventh-grade year. She has earned all-conference honors throughout her career and has been named most valuable player each season since 2008. She also was selected first-team all-region this past season.

Wright has made the A/B honor roll every semester since the eighth grade, has had perfect attendance since kindergarten and is ranked fifth in her class with a grade-point average of 3.76. Wright is a member of the National Beta Club and Interact Club. Also a softball standout, Wright was voted “Most Athletic” for her senior class.

“Kara is an athletic, versatile player,” CVCC coach Shannon Hudson said. “Her flexibility on the court makes her a huge asset to our program.”

Wright plans to pursue a dental hygiene degree.
