South Point coach selected for Shrine Bowl
Comments 0 | Recommend 0South Point assistant football coach Mickey Lineberger will serve as a North Carolina assistant in the 2010 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.
Lineberger, 55, has been a coach at South Point since 1983 and also served the Red Raiders as baseball coach for 22 years and as athletic director.
Forest Hills’ John Lowery was selected as North Carolina’s head coach. Lineberger’s fellow assistants will be Newton-Conover’s Nick Bazzle, West Brunswick’s Jimmy Fletcher, Providence’s Randy Long, Monroe’s Johnny Sowell and Asheville’s Danny Wilkins.
The 74th Shrine Bowl will be played Dec. 18 at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.
