Gaston County jamboree pairings set
Gaston County’s Citizens South Bank/FCA Jamboree will span two nights for a second straight year, with Cherryville and Ashbrook the hosts.
Cherryville will be the site of four games on Friday, Aug. 13, featuring a Gaston County team in each matchup. North Gaston will take on West Lincoln in the 6 p.m. opener, followed by East Gaston against East Mecklenburg at 7, Bessemer City against West Mecklenburg at 8 and Cherryville against West Caldwell in at 9.
Then at Ashbrook on Saturday, Aug., 14, Hunter Huss will kick off the night with a 6 p.m. matchup against Mallard Creek. Kings Mountain will take on Rocky River (a new school in Mint Hill) at 7, followed by Forestview against West Charlotte at 8 and Ashbrook against Burns at 9.
South Point will not participate in the jamboree for the first time in the event’s four-year history. As South Point’s replacement, Kings Mountain will be making its second appearance and first since 2008.
Admission is $6 each day.
The regular season begins a week later on Aug. 20.
