2A state track and field set for Friday
Friday's 2A state track and field championships will feature a handful of local athletes.
Bessemer City's Janaura Sellers is seeded fifth in the girls' 300-meter hurdles as the lone Gaston County representative at the event scheduled for N.C. A&T University in Greensboro.
Lincolnton's Morgan Turner is seeded fourth in the 3200 and fifth in the 1600. North Lincoln's Amber Wilson has the third seed in the high jump and East Lincoln's girls' 400 relay team is seeded fifth.
On the boys' side, Lincolnton's Cedric Herndon is seeded first in the long jump and East Lincoln's Josh McCray is seeded second in the triple and seventh in the 200. North Lincoln's Matt Smith has the second seed in the pole vault and the East Lincoln boys are seeded second in the 400 relay. Lincolnton's boys are seeded fourth in the same relay.
