East Gaston baseball player hospitalized
East Gaston senior Jordan Graham remained hospitalized Thursday but showed signs of recovery after suffering a head injury in practice earlier in the week.
A ball hit Graham in the head during batting practice prior to Tuesday's home playoff game against Providence. The second baseman played in the game after being cleared by medical staff but had to be taken to a hospital afterward.
Graham remained in the intensive care unit at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte Wednesday and Thursday but doctors planned to move him to a regular room soon, East Gaston head baseball coach Randy Sellers said Thursday evening.
"Each day he's doing better," said Sellers, who had visited Graham earlier in the evening.
The Graham family could not be reached.
