Rebels win SPC wrestling tournament
West Lincoln won the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A Conference wrestling title behind SPC wrestler of the year Clay Heafner. The host Rebels scored 263.5 points Saturday to easily beat runners-up South Iredell and East Lincoln, who scored 112 points each.
Lincolnton’s Chavis Avery was named SPC tournament most outstanding wrestler. West Lincoln’s Butch Ross collected coach of the year honors.
