Gaston Day guard to play basketball in Maine

Gaston Day senior Pet Sumner signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Maine-Farmington.

Sumner, a 5-foot-11 guard, averaged 15.6 points this past season and reached 20 points in six games. The three-year starter was an honorable mention all-conference selection and made the Spartan Classic all-tournament team.

Maine-Farmington competes in the NCAA Division III North Atlantic Conference. The Beavers won the conference championship in March and lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
