See who's signing on National Signing Day (updated)
Kings Mountain and Lincolnton will be the busiest area schools on National Signing Day Wednesday.
Six Kings Mountain athletes plan to sign national letters of intent while five from Lincolnton will do the same as the NCAA’s signing period begins for football and other sports. Of the six Kings Mountain athletes, two of them are signing for football, two for soccer and one each for softball and baseball. Lincolnton plans to submit letters of intent from five members of its state runner-up football team.
Of Wednesday’s anticipated signings, one of them hasn’t announced his final decision. Shrine Bowl safety Nortavius Otis of Ashbrook plans to choose between Lenoir-Rhyne or Wingate, Green Wave coach Greg Hill said.
One area football player changed his commitment as Forestview offensive lineman Jamie Collmar plans to sign with Appalachian State instead of Florida International.
Across the entire coverage area, including Gaston and Lincoln counties and Kings Mountain, athletic directors have reported 17 athletes who plan to sign Wednesday.
