Two local football players make preseason list

Cherryville’s Thomas Bess and East Lincoln’s Patrick Rendleman earned preseason football honors this week.
Bess, a quarterback/defensive, and Rendleman, who plays quarterback, receiver and free safety, were named to WSOC-TV’s “Big 22,” the stations’ preseason list of top area football standouts.
The “Big 22” players will be featured on WSOC-TV’s high school football kickoff show Aug. 18 at 8 p.m. The football regular season begins Aug. 20.
