BC’s Sellers places in 2A meet
GREENSBORO - Bessemer City sophomore Janaura Sellers placed seventh in the 300-meter hurdles at Friday's 2A state track and field championships.
Sellers completed the race in 49.70 seconds at North Carolina A&T State University. The winning time was 44.74.
Sellers' state performance wrapped up a season in which she finished second in the 300 hurdles at the Gaston County Championships before winning the event at the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A Conference and 2A Midwest Regional meets.
"I'm very proud of her," Bessemer City coach Bryan Nichols said. "She got a chance to see what it feels like to compete at high level meets with good competition this year and she did very well."
