Highland Tech adds football games, hires former Huss coach
Highland Tech has a full football schedule after recently adding a pair of opponents. The Rams will play host to Durham Mount Zion on Oct. 8 and will be home against Kestrel Heights Charter, another Durham school, on Oct. 29.
The additions give Highland Tech 11 games with a bye on Oct. 22.
Former Huss coach headed to Highland
Former Hunter Huss girls basketball coach Jan Wiggins has found a new home gym just up the road. Wiggins has agreed to serve as assistant girls basketball coach at Highland Tech.
Wiggins, who left Hunter Huss this summer after a 21-year career that included seven conference championships, will assist Jerry Jordan. She takes the place of Butch Blalock, who helped out in a pinch last season. Blalock is head boys basketball coach and athletic director.
